If you really want to avoid hair loss, you must focus on your hair care. Hair growth is very important. The easiest and most effective way of promoting hair growth is by giving your scalp a massage daily. Again, I am not kidding! Why don’t you devote five minutes of your busy day massaging your scalp? This can give a big difference and it will even make you feel better.

You must also be careful in choosing your shampoo and conditioner. Some have sensitive hair scalp that’s why they easily acquire dandruff and split ends. If irritation occurs, stop use.

The third most common cause of hair loss affecting women is alopecia areata or spot baldness. There are patchy areas on the head and can be found more widespread all over the body. Not much is known about the disease but believed to emanate from deficiencies in the body’s immune system, the body attacks its own hair follicles and suppresses or stops hair growth.. It occurs more frequently in people with affected family members, which suggests that heredity may be a factor. In several cases, hair grows back after a certain period but at some instances the problem may be more long standing and severe.

Why do women lose hair, do they end up getting bald or sport bald spots? Is it similar to those that cause male baldness? Being aware of the scientific facts will help us understand the process of hair growth.

Hair experts believe that hair tresses grow at the rate of about ½ inch per month with hair having a growth phase of two to six years. After this period, there is a point when the hair rests then falls out. The follicle from where it fell then starts growing a new strand. This cycle continues until well into old age.

The most common type of hair loss in men is male pattern baldness. It begins at the hairline, as the hair gradually recedes to form an “M” shape. The remaining hair becomes finer and shorter and the hair at the crown begins to thin. When the top of the hairline meets the thinned crown a horseshoe pattern around the sides of the head is formed.

When hair loss occurs in patches, breaking of hair shafts, a diffuse shedding of hair, or hair loss with redness, pain and scaling, it would be best to consult a dermatologist as this could be caused by other conditions.

I: Choosing Hair Type –Know the type of hair you add to your own as it will affect how realistic and attractive your extensions look.

II: Choose Hair Application Method – Decide if you want to have your extensions applied in a single strand method, or in wefts (hair group).

III: Choose Attachment Method – Three basic types of attaching weaves are braided, bonded, and fusion.

IV: Ongoing Care – Weave hair is prone to becoming brittle and dry because it is not attached to the scalp and doesn’t receive the body’s nourishing oils. Without proper care it will develop split ends and become frizzy and unmanageable.
